New Year’s Resolutions to Grow Your Business

With the holidays right around the corner, talk about New Year’s resolutions is in full swing. Unfortunately for many, their resolutions won’t last past the month of January. Many people have all the intention to change. However, they continue to practice their old patterns and behaviors, wondering why they couldn’t stick to their resolutions.  We all have the potential to do whatever we set our minds to. For an Entrepreneur, 2018 can be the year to grow your business, and achieve your goals. Here are some of our tips to help your business in 2018.

Tip #1 make a plan

When thinking about what your goals will be this year, make sure you also include a plan. Prove that the goal is achievable by showing yourself how and what you need to do to attain it. Create a plan by using research, statistics, and realistic time lines. You are more likely to accomplish your resolutions if you know where to start and how to get there. Tip #2 Identify your problems

Albert Einstein said “If I had an hour to solve a problem I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions.”

Having your own business means you will run into problems all the time, especially as your business grows.  A good business man is also a good problem solver, and in order to be a good problem solver, you have to learn how to identify problems. it is common for people to ignore a small problem if it isn’t urgent. But often times, these small issues can lead to even bigger problems and double the work later on. This year, practice being attentive to the small issues you used to ignore. Make it a habit to spend more time on fixing the ailment, and less time just covering up the symptoms. Help your business be more productive and prevent bigger problems from forming down the line.

Tip #3 Never stop learning, keep an open mind

A good entrepreneur understands that there is always something new to learn, no matter how experienced you are in your business. There are always changes in competition, strategy, and procedure. Learn to be okay with this realty, and make an effort to keep up with the times. Strive to keep an open mind, adjust, and adapt to changes. Look for seminars, books, advice from successful people in your field, or even from competition. Also, think about changing up your business strategies. If you obtain all of your customers via social media, try something different like face to face networking or word of mouth advertising. You won’t know what works best until you try different things. “It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change. –Charles Darwin ”
