    Course Overview

    Our broker post licensing courses are designed to teach you real world information that you can use to help grow and enhance your real estate business. The required 60 credit hours are broken into 2 mini courses: Real Estate Brokerage & Real Estate Finance.

    Real Estate Brokerage (30 Credit Hours)


    This 30-hour course covers real estate brokerage management topics geared toward real estate licensees. 

    Topics include planning and organization of a brokerage business, operational policies and procedures, records and controls recruitment, selection and training of personnel and real estate business analysis. The course also includes the pros and cons of running a brokerage and outlook and trends in the real estate industry.


    Real Estate Finance (30 Credit Hours)

    This course offers 30 hours of financial topics directly applicable to real estate licensees. Covered topics include loan terms, types and issues; government loan programs; defaults and foreclosures; instruments used in real estate financing; and government influence on financing.

    Course highlights include:

    • An overview of federal legislation affecting real estate and mortgages
    • An in-depth look at the role HUD, FHA and VA play in real estate financing
    • A compare-and-contrast discussion of mortgages and deeds of trust, their common clauses and provisions, and applicable foreclosure rules
    • An overview of the subprime market, predatory lending, and mortgage fraud
    • A look at specialty loan products including piggyback, equity loans, and participation agreements, and creative financing including assumptions, modifications and seller financing
    • Workshop-based activities for calculating principal, interest, taxes, and insurance

    Step by Step Guide to Completing the Broker Post License Requirement

    A Florida Broker Licensee is required to complete the 60 hour post licensing course by the first renewal deadline of their broker license. Failure to complete the necessary requirement will result in your broker licensiong becoming NULL & VOID.

    Step 1: Enroll in the Broker Post Licensing Course

    The Florida Real Estate Commission requires you complete 60 credit hours of broker post licensing from a FREC approved real estate school.

    At the Tampa School of Real Estate, our post licensing courses are designed to teach you real world and applicable information you can use to enhance your real estate business.

    Our online course platform is perfect for the busy real esatte professional. You'll have up to one year to complete the course from any internet connectable device.


    Step 2: Complete Course & End of Course Exam

    Once you have completed the course, the review for the end-of-course exam begins. Everything you need to know for the end of course exam will be covered in the review sections. The course will take you through every chapter going over the material for your end of course exams.

    There are 2 end of course exams, both consisting of 50 questions each. Every question is 4 option multiple choice. This exam is timed and you have One and a half hours to complete. A passing score is 75% is required for your completion certificate. We report your hours to the DBPR for you within 48 hours of completing your course. 

    If by chance you do not achieve at least a 75% don't sweat it, you're covered by our 1-Year Retake Guarantee. The Florida Real Estate Commission Does Not require you wait  30 days before retaking the end of course exam again,  Due to Florida Real Estate Commission regulations, you are limited to two (2) exam attempts for the online course. If you do not pass on the second attempt, you will be required to retake the course.

    Step 3: Pay DBPR License Renewal Fee

    Once you have successfully completed the course, all you have left to do is pay the state renewal fee.

    Refunds for classroom courses will only be granted for the remaining balance minus any deposit required to hold seat in class. Deposits will only be refunded when a written request has been submitted to the administration office no later than 3 (three) business days (Monday through Friday excluding holidays) prior to the class start date.

    1-Year Retake Guarantee

If you do not pass the end of course exam you may retake both the course and exam free for one year. Simply review the topics you had trouble with and retake the exam when you feel ready. The Florida Real Estate Commission requires that you wait at least 30 days before retaking the end of course exam again. You are allowed one exam retake attempt and are required to retake the course if the exam has not been passed twice.

    How long does the course take to complete?
    The course is self paced. You may spend as much time as necessary to complete the course and can retake the exam as necessary free for one year with our exclusive 1-Year Retake Guarantee.

    Once I register for an online course, can I start it immediately?
    Yes. The online enrollment process includes credit card verification. In under a minute, you are approved to start your desired online course(s). You will receive an e-mail confirmation for your records and you may begin the course immediately following registration or at any time you choose.

    Must I complete the online course in one sitting, or can I log off and come back to it later?
    Your online courses are engineered to "remember" where you left off, so you can return to a given section at a later time. Make sure you use the proper "Exit" buttons in the course so that your course is bookmarked properly. You will need to complete online final exams in one sitting.

    If I fail the course exam can I get a refund.
    No the Florida Real Estate Commission prohibits schools from providing refunds for students that do not pass exams.

    If I do not pass the end-of-course exam do I have to pay the school again to take the exam again?
    No, you can retake the exam one addition time, free for one year with our exclusive 1-Year Retake Guarantee. Due to Florida Real Estate Commission Regulations in order to take the exam a third time you will have to retake the course and complete in full.
